On Thursday, January 15 it was reported the largest bank on Wall Street, Goldman Sachs (GS), was looking at how it could possibly get into the lava-hot prediction markets space.

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon revealed this development at the company’s 4Q earnings conference call, and said he had met with leaders of two big prediction market companies and that GS had a team in place evaluating the seemingly supercycle of prediction markets.

“I’ve personally met with the two big prediction companies and their leadership in the last two weeks and spent a couple of hours with each to learn more about that,” Solomon said. “We have a team of people here that are spending time with them and are looking at it.”

David Solomon

Suddenly fitting into and offering products (markets) in the PM universe will take some time for the Robinhoods and possibly Goldman Sachs of the world, more familiar with conventional financial markets and services and new to the ‘Yes-No’ derivatives concept.

Solomon didn’t say which two prediction markets he met with—we can guess who and probably be right with Kalshi and Polymarket both headquartered in New York City—and he didn’t address the reality that the majority of trading in PMs is in Sports markets—controversial in some US states.

But Solomon was also very quick to throw some necessary caution into the proverbial wind.

I think there’s a lot of reason to be excited and interested in these things, but the pace of change might not be as quick as and as immediate as some of the pundits are talking about in both of these, but I think they’re important really, and we are spending a lot of time.

Kalshi Signs Golfer Bryson DeChambeau to Deal

On Wednesday, January 14, Kalshi announced that it had signed golfer Bryson DeChambeau to become the popular prediction market’s first athlete and brand ambassador. In 2020, DeChambeau was the first pro golfer to sign a deal with online sportsbook DraftKings.

In this relationship, the 32-year-old DeChambeau—a former PGA player now on the LIV Golf tour but wavering—will do a TV commercial, posts on social media, branded content for Kalshi, and love appearances and other promotions. DeChambeau won the US Open in 2020 and 2024.

Kalshi is building something completely different,” Texas resident DeChambeau said. “As the world’s largest prediction market and one of the fastest-growing companies in the world, Kalshi is creating a fun and more engaging experience for people to predict and forecast the future.”

At Kalshi, Golf has been a big hit with an estimated $456 traded on the sport in 2025. So will this open the door to more athletes being signed by PMs like Kalshi and Polymarket?

Who Will Host SNL Season 51? Trading at Robinhood

Robinhood serves up an interesting market in ‘Who Will Host Saturday Night Live Season 51?’ The new season of Saturday Night Live (NBC (8:30 EST)—season 51 of the hit show—made its debut on Saturday, January 17 with Finn Wolfhard as host and A$AP Rocky as the musical guest.

On SNL this Saturday (January 20), we will see Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor host the show with Geese as the musical guest followed by Alexander Skarsgård as host with Cardi B as the evening’s musical act on Saturday, January 27.

Who will host Sat Night Live Season 5?

Names in the market to also be hosts on SNL this 51st season at Robinhood include Timothée Chalamet (42¢), Ryan Gosling (27¢), Margot Robbie (20¢), Sydney Sweeney (23¢), Anya Taylor-Joy (20¢), Pedro Pascal (20¢), Miley Cyrus (17¢), and Olivia Rodrigo (17%).

Trading Thoughts: It has been two years since Ryan Gosling hosted SNL, and with a new sci-fi movie (Project Hail Mary) set to be released in March, we could see the 45-year-old actor and native Canadian host for a fourth time (2015, 2017, 2024). Trading Pick: Ryan Gosling, Yes 27¢

2026 Grammys: Record of the Year Preview

Not to be confused with the Album of the Year award, the Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards—which airs on Sunday, February 1 from LA to honor outstanding achievements in the music industry (CBS, 8 EST/5 PST)—honors the best single recording of a song for the past year.

In the Record of the Year winner market at Polymarket, four main nominees are seeing the ‘Yes’ money from traders in “Luther” (48%) by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, “Abracadabra” (18%) by Lady Gaga, “APT.” (14%) by Rosé and Bruno Mars, and “DTMF” (12%) by Bad Bunny.

Grammys: Record of the Year Winner

Trading Thoughts: Last year, this category was won by Kendrick Lamar for the hit song “Not Like Us”. This year, Lamar can go back-to-back if “Luther” wins, and with the closest competition 24% behind, best to ride the horse in the direction he’s going.Trading Pick: “Luther” Yes, 50¢

2026 Grammys: Best Country Song Winner a Close Race

The Grammys award category for ‘Best Country Song’ isn’t as one-sided as some of the other markets for the February 1 show hosted by Trevor Noah with three songs looking like they have a shot to win the award according to traders at Polymarket.

A Song To Sing” (35¢) by Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert, “Somewhere Over Laredo” (28¢) by Lainey Wilson, and Bitin’ List” (20¢) by Tyler Childers all followed in trading order for the show which will air next Sunday night live on CBS.

Grammy Award for Best Country Song?

Three country songs from 2025 which were longer shorts at Robinhood were “Good News” (18¢) by Shaboozey, “I Never Lie” (10¢) by Zach Top, with a “Tie” (3¢) between nominees also offered.

Trading Thoughts: The early money looks like the smart money on “A Song to Sing” by Stapleton and Lambert and would still be the heavy lean to Grammy traders in the Entertainment library at Robinhood.Trading Pick: “A Song To Sing” Yes, 35¢

Flores a Good Pick to be LV Raiders Next Head Coach?

The Raiders go through Head Coaches like Elizabeth Taylor went through husbands and after letting Pete Carroll go after a disappointing 3-14 first season, Owner Mark Davis and GM John Spytek are looking for another HC to rebuild what was the worst team in the NFL in 2025-26.

At Kalshi in the ‘Who Will be the Las Vegas Pro Football (Raiders) Next Head Coach?’ market, Klint Kubiak (33%), former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel (23%), Ejiro Evero (23%), Davis Webb (16%), the early favorite Brian Flores (9%), Robert Saleh (4%), and Joe Brady (7%).

Las Vegas Pro Football - Next Head Coach?

Trading Thoughts: Over their last 34 games in all competitions (PS+RS), the Raiders are an abysmal 5-28-1, so whoever the new HC is, he will have his work cut out for him. With LV holding the #1 pick in the NFL Draft in April, the team may pick a coach who can groom Heisman Trophy winner and IU QB Fernando Mendoza.

The longshot angle here is that Flores spent the first 15 coaching years in the NFL with the Patriots when now Raiders minority owner Tom Brady was playing for NE. Brady is definitely in Spytek’s ear and Davis will likely just let his GM do his job. Trading Pick: Brian Flores, Yes 9¢

Islanders’ Sorokin NHL Traders Vezina Trophy Favorite

First presented in 1927, the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Vezina Trophy is named after Montréal Canadiens goalie Georges Vezina, and this prestigious piece of hockey silverware is awarded to the best goaltender each season by a vote of the league’s 3 general managers.

Polymarket traders are backing the Islanders Ilya Sorokin (41%) to take home this award, followed by Avalanche G Scott Wedgewood (39%), the Capitals Logan Thompson (32%), Lightning legend Andrei Vasilevsky (24%), the Rangers Igor Shesterkin (16%) and Wild G Jesper Wallstedt (10%).

Longer trading shots in the Vezina Trophy winner market like the Bruins Jeremy Swayman and the Stars netminder Jake Oettinger were all at bargain basement prices of (4%).

NFL Vezina Trophy Winner

Trading Thoughts: The 32 NHL GMS vote on a 5-3-1 system for this award at the end of the Regular Season—so the NHL Playoffs are after this vote is conducted—with this leading to three announced finalists, and then ultimately, the winner. Last year, the Jets Connor Hellebuyck won.

Statistically on January 14, the Mammoth’s Karei Vejmelka had the most Wins (21) followed by the Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky (19), the Avalanche’s Mackenzie Blackwood the best GAA (2.07) with his teammate Wedgewood owning the best Save Percentage (.924) along with the Kraken’s Philipp Grubauer (.924).

Despite the Islanders’ Sorokin’s (15-11-2, 2.47, .915, 4 SOs) popularity, consider a longshot like Seattle’s Philip Grubauer (4%) in this market. He has great numbers (9-4-2, 2.46, .916) but is still looking for his first SO. My lean is Wedgewood. half. Trading Pick: Scott Wedgewood, Yes 76.1¢

Marseille, Liverpool Battling in UEFA CL on Wednesday

UEFA Champions League - League Phase play continues with Ligue 1 side Marseille (3-0-3) welcoming EPL legends Liverpool (4-0-2) to the Orange Vélodrome (AirFibr Hybrid Grass) in Marseille, France in Matchday 7 on Wednesday (Paramount+, 3 EST/2 CST/12 PST).

Soccer traders at Kalshi like Liverpool (50%) over Igor Paixão (4 goals) and Marseille (27%) with a Draw at 26% with Liverpool wins by over 1.5 goals at 29% and Over 2.5 goals scored at 57%.

Trading Thoughts: The Reds have beaten Marseille in the last 3 series meetings (7 GF-1 GA)—all UEFA Champions League—but those matches were nine years ago. Both clubs need a win here, but expect both the Reds and OM to advance to theKnockout Phase of the prestigious tournament.

Five of Marseille’s six UEFA CL matches had 3 goals or more, and with the electric Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (3 goals), Mason Greenwood (3 goals), and Paixão, for OM and Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah for Liverpool, there must be 3 goals. Trading Pick: Over 2.5 goals scored, Yes 63¢

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Mavericks Welcome Warriors to Big D on Thursday Night

Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks (17-26, 13-11 Home) host Stephen Curry and the Warriors (24-19, 8-13 Road) in a fun Western Conference matchup at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Thursday night (Prime Video, 7:30 EST/6:30 CST/4:30 PST).

Despite how well rookie Flagg (18.99 PGG) has played, the Mavericks have been really struggling and wouldn’t make the NBA Playoffs if the season ended today. Aging Golden State hasn’t been much better, but at least the Dubs have their heads above water and would make the Postseason.

American Airlines Center

➤Trading Thoughts: The Warriors beat the Mavericks on Christmas Day in San Francisco, 126-116 in a game the hosts led by 12 points after the first quarter (40-28). This is a game GS needs and should be able to win, despite the site. Trading Pick: Golden State Game Winner, Yes

Yellow Submarine Hosting Madrid in La Liga on Saturday

Spanish legends Real Madrid (15-3-2) are on the road at Villarreal (13-2-4) in a huge league showdown between the 2nd and 3rd place clubs in La Liga at Estadio de la Cerámica (Hybrid Grass) in Villarreal, Spain on Saturday (ESPN+, ESPN Deportes, 3 EST/2 CST/12 PST).

Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid went 4-0-2 across all competitions in December, outscoring opponents 11-7, but back-to-back home losses to Manchester City (1-2) and Celta Vigo (0-2) were setbacks and after the Spanish Super Cup loss to Barcelona, the club sacked manager Xabi Alonso.

Now with Álvaro Arbeloa in charge of the most decorated club in Europe, Los Blancos look to return to their dominance on the pitch. At Kalshi, traders like Real Madrid (49%) over Villarreal (30%) in this pivotal match with a Draw priced at 26%.

Trading Thoughts: El Submarino Amarillo are catching the Madristas at a precarious point in time. When these two met in league play earlier this season at Madrid, the hosts won 3-1 as Vinicius Junior had a brace and Mbappé tallied in a game where Villarreal ended with just 10 men.

A first loss ever to second-division Albacete in the Spanish Super Cup last week in the new manager’s first match with the big club shows that RM is really struggling. RM is 4-1-0 in the last 5 series meetings (15 GF-7 GA) but Villarreal scored in 4 of those fixtures, including in October. Trading Pick: Both Teams to Score, Yes 69¢

Bayern Munich Faces Augsburg in Saturday Bundesliga

Manuel Neuer and German Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich (14-2-0) try to stay unbeaten in league play when it hosts FC Augsburg (4-2-10) from Allianz Arena (Hybrid Grass) in München, Germany on Wednesday (ESPN+, 9:30 am EST/6:30 am PST).

Harry Kane (20 goals), Michael Olise (9 goals, 9 assists) and Bayern were well-rested heading into January after going 4-1-0 in December with Die Bayern last playing on December 21 before the new year rang in. Bayern scored at least 2 goals in all 5 of the December matches (4, 2, 3, 5, 3)

At Kalshi, trading sees Bayern Munich (92%) very heavy favorites over FC Augsburg (5%) with a Draw at 7%. Bayern Munich wins by over 2.5 goals and was trading at 57% with Over 3.5 goals scored at 58%.

Trading Thoughts: There are maybe five teams in amateur and professional sports you can pretty much back (or fade) blindly and Fußball-Club Bayern München e. V. is one of them. Here, the victim is FC Augsburg, a club Bayern beat 3-2 on August 20 at the WMK Arena in Augsburg.

In that match, Bayern jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 48 minutes behind goals from Serge Gnabry, Luis Diaz, and Olise. Here, expect the hosts to score at least 3 times with GK Neuer looking for a clean sheet vs the Fuggerstädter. Trading Pick: Bayern Munich wins by over 2.5 goals, Yes 57¢

PGA Golf: The Masters Winner 2026 Futures Preview

Polymarket has The Masters futures numbers trading on its platform and we see the usual suspects Sottie Scheffler (21%) and Rory McIlroy (9%) getting the most ‘Yes’ contracts a good distance from the tourney’s tee off from April 9-12 in majestic Augusta, Georgia.

After those two, who have won the last two and three of the last four The Masters, it’s Bryson DeChambeau (6%)—who just signed a deal with KalshiTommy Fleetwood (5%), Ludvig Åberg (5%), Viktor Hovland (3%), Justin Rose (4%), Xander Schauffele (4%), and Jon Rahm (4%).

Longer shots to win The Masters include Adam Scott (3%), Collin Morikawa (3%), Brooks Koepka (3%)—back in the PGA after a stint in LIV Golf—Patrick Cantlay (2%), Tomas Detry (2%), Jordan Spieth (2%), Cameron Young (2%), Tyrell Hatton (2%), and living legend Tiger Woods (1%).

The Masters - Winner

Trading Thoughts: Probably the most beautiful sports offering visually ever Spring, The Masters from Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia never ceases to amaze visually, sonically, and as a competition between the world’s best amateur and professional golfers.

Last year, Rory McIlroy finally got his Green Jacket to pull off the career Grand Slam, while American sensation Scottie Scheffler won in 2024 after also winning in 2022. So who to take? Logic says to take the favorite Scheffler at this still early price and then hedge or up your position(s) if he has a decent opening two rounds. Trading Pick: Scottie Scheffler, Yes 21¢
